The Foundation Flock
I raise sheep for both their wool and their meat. I have several unregistered purebred Cotswolds, who have a lovely long, shimmering, curly lock often used as dolls hair or Santa beards. It's also prefect for lock spinning or weaving. Despite their larger size, Cotswolds are a docile breed, so very easy to manage and also a great meat sheep. Their meat has a more mild flavour, even in older sheep. My other sheep are more traditional types of meat sheep, like Suffolk-Arcott crosses, good for multiple births. I also chose a black Suffolk/Isle de France Ram, to bring some colour into my Flock. He had quite a soft downy fleece, which he passed on to some of his progeny.
Here are my breeding ewes and rams, from the fall 2015 breeding season. My foundation flock is not for sale, but this will give you an idea of parentage. Click on their images to see info on each one. Scroll down further to see the sheep and lambs for sale.
